Ansgarius Cowl
The Ansgarius Cowl/Scarf knitting pattern is an origami style, 3D knitted design. It can be knit in any yarn; although solids, tonals, and ombre yarns will show off the shadow effects of the dimensional knitting best without distracting from the design.
Suggested Yarn: Madelinetosh “Tosh Merino Light”

Gauge: 16sts and 24rows = 2” in Garter Stitch

NOTES:
Origami knitting utilizes a technique known as a “twisted stitch”. There are a number of video tutorials online for learning this style of knitting. I prefer the method in the link below. For this design, I have modified the two-stitch twist to create a triple-twisted stitch to allow for the angle of ridge lines that I wanted to see in the pattern. Additionally, there are lifted purl increases in this design. Recommendations for video tutorial below.
