Lindal Turitella No.01

$60.00

Lindal Turritella Prototype Scarf. This was the original prototype design made for what was to eventually become the Lindal Turritella pattern. The pattern for this specific design was never published and so this is a true one-of-a-kind original.

The designs from this collection are inspired by the beautiful organic shapes of seashells. Turritella comes from Latin turrittus meaning “turreted” or “towered” and the diminutive suffix ~ella. A genus of medium-sized sea snails with tightly coiled shells.

This is an original prototype sample hand knit by designer, Ona Wöldten. All photography copyright of Wöldten, LLC.

CARE:

I recommend using a detergent specially designed for woolen garments. Soak Wash Inc. makes a beautiful product that can be found online here: https://soakwash.com/

  1. Hand Washing: Pour a capful of Soak into a gallon of cool water. Make sure there’s enough room for the water to move around and cover the item.

Soak it for 15 minutes (longer is okay), then gently squeeze out the water- there’s no need to rinse. Some color may bleed into the water, but don’t worry, this won’t harm your garment. (But it’s always a good idea to test for color-fastness before washing.)

Roll the item in a dry towel and squeeze out moisture. Lay flat to dry.

  2. Spot Cleaning: Put some Soak on a cotton swab, gently rub the stain, then rinse with water.
